The Last Post

The 2017 school year is now over. We have had another busy year with lots of different activities and many highlights. 
We farewelled Ryan, Toby and Maia P who will attend different schools in 2018. 

I wish you all a blessed Christmas and a safe relaxing holiday break.


We wished James (15th), Christine (4th), Maia P (20th) and Nina (4th) Happy Birthday for their January birthdays.

At today's final assembly Maia P, Ryan and Toby received certificates thanking them for their contribution to Room 6 and OLV. They are leaving OLV to attend Year 7 and other schools.

Term 4 Week 7

Over the weekend lots of exciting things happened for Room 6 people.

Congratulations to Savanna who received 2 medals and a trophy at her dance prize giving.
Among her many achievements Savanna was awarded the second highest mark in her Contemporary Dance Exam in Australasia.

Materoa was named 'player of the day' for her netball team.

Last Day

The School Choir is performing in the Christchurch Schools' Music Festival at Horncastle Arena.

Welcome to Term 4

Welcome to Term 4. We have a busy term ahead with athletics, swimming, touch rugby and dog safety being some of the activities we will be involved in. It was great to see everyone today and to catch up on the holidays.
We also celebrated a couple of achievements.

Portia turned 11 last Friday. We sang 'Happy Birthday' to her and wished her all the best as an 11 year old.







Congratulations to Jameson for achieving a certificate in STEPs.
Keep up the good work.



Now that we are in Term 4 everyone needs to be wearing a school uniform hat during breaks and when outside. Please ensure your child's hat is named.
We will be doing athletics on Mondays and Thursdays and PE on Wednesdays so everyone needs to bring their PE gear on these days.
On Friday 20 October we will be attending 9am Mass. Please be at school by 8:45am.
Next Monday 23 October is Labour Day. This is a Public Holiday so school will be closed.

Term 3 Speech Finalists

Over the last few weeks we have been working on our speeches. Everyone did a fantastic job of writing their speech and organising props as support. When it came to presenting their speeches everyone put their best foot forward and presented their speech confidently. Lots of interesting information was shared and we learnt many new things on a range of topics. 
Ka pai to all Room 6 students for the effort you put into writing and presenting your speeches - you deserve a big pat on the back.

Congratulations to Portia, Jameson, Rad, Pavlos and James who have made the
Year 6 Speech Finals, which will be held at the beginning of Term 4.

Kids for Kids

On Wednesday evening the Senior Syndicate performed in the Kids for Kids concert, providing the choir to Jackie Clark and Nathan King. We all looked and sounded amazing and had a great time.
